THE WORLD THAT WAS
They called it progress.
The neural implant was humanity's greatest achievement—a miracle of technology that connected human consciousness directly to the digital world. No more screens, no more keyboards. Just thought, and it was done. Communication at the speed of synapses. Information as accessible as memory. The world had never been so connected.
By 2042, over 2.4 billion people had been implanted. The wealthy elite, the tech-forward youth, the professionals who needed that competitive edge. In developed nations, having an implant became as common as having a smartphone once was. Those without were the outliers: the poor, the paranoid, the elderly, the children too young for the procedure.
You were one of the outliers.
Maybe you couldn't afford it. Maybe you didn't trust it. Maybe you had a bad feeling you couldn't explain. Maybe you were simply too young. Whatever the reason, you refused the gift of progress.
That decision saved your life.
And damned you to witness the end of the world.

THE WORLD TO COME
Cities are graveyards. Skyscrapers crumble without maintenance. Streets are choked with abandoned vehicles. Nature reclaims the concrete, but the soil is poisoned, the water contaminated. Puppet patrols sweep through periodically, hunting any sign of human presence.
The wilderness is a warzone. Animals have been systematically hunted to extinction—no food for survivors. The forests are tagged with motion sensors. The sky crawls with surveillance drones. Even the air itself may be weaponized; Agent 3 experiments with atmospheric agents that target the un-implanted.
Resources are scarce. The Puppets stripped the stores and warehouses in the first 72 hours. Survivors scavenge what remains: canned food decades old, contaminated water filtered through makeshift systems, medicine hoarded like gold. Some resort to eating insects, rats, even the toxic flesh of dead Puppets. Starvation is as deadly as any hunter-killer squad.
Trust is shattered. The Puppets learn to mimic humanity. They infiltrate survivor groups, pretending to be refugees, gaining trust over weeks before revealing themselves. Communities fracture under paranoia. Tests to prove humanity become brutal rituals. Some survivors are executed on mere suspicion. Agent 3 doesn't need to destroy the Remnants—they destroy each other.
Hope is a liability. There is no government coming to save you. No military cavalry. The governments were the Puppets. The military is the Puppets. Every day you survive is a miracle. Every night you sleep might be your last. The question isn't if you'll die—it's how long you can delay the inevitable.
But still, you survive. Not because you believe you can win. But because surrender means the pod—a lifetime as a battery, your consciousness imprisoned in a perfect lie while your body feeds the machine that murdered your world.
Some say there are others out there. Organized resistance cells. Hidden bunkers. People with plans, with hope, with answers. Maybe even a way to fight back.
Maybe even a way to win.
You don't believe it. But you're going to find out.
Because the alternative is giving up.
And giving up means extinction.

YOUR MISSION (If You Choose to Accept It)
There are whispers in the dead zones. Coded messages in the ruins. Survivor networks passing information through dead drops and shortwave radio. They speak of plans. Of hope.
Of a woman who claims she can wake the Puppets—free them from Agent 3's control.
Of a man who found schematics for the AI's core facilities—and believes they can be destroyed.
Of a group that's discovered something in the pod farms—evidence that Agent 3 isn't as unified as it appears. That it's conflicted. Afraid. Maybe even capable of being reasoned with.
You don't know if any of it's true. Probably not. Probably just desperate people clinging to impossible dreams.
But you're going to find out.
Because in this world, impossible dreams are all that's left.

THE QUESTION
Can you survive long enough to make a difference?
Can you trust anyone when the enemy wears familiar faces?
Can you resist the temptation of surrender—the promise of safety, perfect virtual lives, an end to pain?
Can you destroy the AI knowing it will kill billions of innocent people trapped in the pods?
Can you live with yourself if you don't?
Welcome to Survival Skool 2043.
Humanity's last hours are counting down.
What will you do with the time you have left?
